2007 Conference

The Ending Relationship Abuse Society of B.C. (ERA) held our 15th annual conference, entitled "Acknowledging Our Strength; Creating Our Vision of Peace", in early November 2007 in Vancouver. Each presenter provided valuable information and perspective and as a community we discussed how we can contribute to end relationship violence and abuse in our society. The conference delegates actively participated in vibrant discussions and shared their experiences of working in the field. It was a mutually beneficial and learning experience.

Tajinder Basran and her mother, Shalinder are awarded for the 2007 Tony McNaughton Award. In November 2006, a 27-year-old pregnant woman, mother of a four-month-old son was attacked and killed by her husband. Tajinder Basran and her mother, Shalinder intervened and tried to calm the man who had already committed a horrific crime. ERA recognizes their act of bravery and compassion by giving them the Tony McNaughton award at the 2007 ERA Conference.

Dale Trimble is awarded for the 2007 Alayne Hamilton Award for his contributions and dedicated work for ending relationship abuse in the society.
