2005 Conference
The Tony McNaughton Award was given to two young men, Tori Haleta and Kevin Venn, who were both severely injured
in separate incidents in which Tori and Kevin intervened to stop an attack on a woman. An award was also made to
Penny Bain for her contributions to the field of family violence. Allen Sawkins, Tony's partner, told the
story
of Tony's heroic actions and gave out the awards. Allen debuted his song "Just the Whiskey
Talking".
