2004 Conference

Awards were given to Don Miller, Alison Smith and Leslie Bennewith for acting with courage to save a woman who was being attacked by her ex-husband. The woman was shot five times, but survived thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of these three people. A posthumous award was also given to Tony McNaughton. It was accepted by his partner, Allen Sawkins, who spoke passionately to the conference delegates about the loss of his partner and the commitment both men had to non-violence.
