WELCOME TO ERA

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Ending Relationship Abuse Society of BC is to educate those who are committed to the provision of high quality treatment services in British Columbia for individuals who use abuse in relationships through the activities of:

  • providing conferences and training for the public and professionals,

  • developing guiding principles for professionals providing relationship abuse offender treatment,

  • collecting and disseminating information on prevention and intervention responses to relationship abuse, and

  • maintaining an educational website,

with the ultimate goal of ending abuse in intimate relationships.

VISION

The Vision of ERA is to contribute to stopping violence in relationships through province-wide provision of effective, accessible, ethical services for individuals who have used abuse in relationships.

Although we wish to respond to all abuse in intimate relationships, our primary focus is on abuse against women within the social context of men’s relatively greater power in relationships with women.

MEMBERSHIP

Full membership is available to all individuals in British Columbia who support the vision and Guiding Principles of ERA.

Associate membership is available to those outside the province of BC who support our work. Associate members receive the same benefits but do not have voting privileges and cannot serve as Directors.
